Acacia Languages — Legal
Last updated: July 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of acacia-languages.com and any courses, subscriptions, workshops, or tutoring services (the "Services") provided by Acacia Languages Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales at 17 William Evans House, London, SE8 5AU, United Kingdom. By accessing our website or purchasing our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1
Who We Are

Acacia Languages Ltd publishes the Role-Play language-learning framework and delivers related courses, digital products, workshops, and tutoring. Contact us at hello at acacia-languages.com for any question about these Terms.

2
Our Services

We offer the following types of Services, which may change or expand over time:

3
Purchases & Payment

All prices are displayed in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise and include any applicable UK VAT. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe); we never store your full card details. Course and subscription access is granted once payment is confirmed.

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account area or by emailing us, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

4
Refunds & Cooling-Off Period

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase. Because our courses give you immediate access to downloadable and streamable content, by purchasing a course you acknowledge that you consent to immediate access and agree that your right to cancel is lost once you begin accessing the course materials.

If you haven't accessed the course content and change your mind within 14 days of purchase, contact hello at acacia-languages.com and we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Live workshops and tutoring sessions may be rescheduled or refunded if cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice.
5
Intellectual Property

All course materials, videos, text, the Role-Play framework, the four-role system (Builder, Detective, Sailor, Athlete), our brand assets, and the book Role-Play: 16 Principles to Be Fluent in Any Language are the intellectual property of Acacia Languages Ltd and/or its authors, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

When you purchase a course or subscription, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the materials for your own learning. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, publicly share, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent.

6
Acceptable Use

You agree not to: share your account or course access with others; attempt to download, scrape, or redistribute course content beyond personal use; use our website or community spaces to harass other learners or post unlawful, abusive, or infringing content; or attempt to interfere with the security or operation of our platforms.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our Services, without refund, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.

7
No Guarantee of Results

Our courses and the Role-Play framework are designed to help you learn a language more effectively, but language acquisition depends on individual effort, consistency, and circumstances. We do not guarantee any specific level of fluency, exam result, or timeframe for progress.

8
Third-Party Platforms

Our Services rely on third-party platforms including Teachable (course delivery), Stripe (payments), and our email service provider. Your use of those platforms may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party providers, though we will do our best to minimise disruption.

9
Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Acacia Languages Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of our Services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, which cannot be excluded under English law.

10
Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services or legal requirements. We will update the "last updated" date above when we do, and continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11
Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
